John M. Budish

1946 - 2025

John Michael Budish, 79, of East Moline, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his residence. John was a true baby boomer, born just after WWII. He attended St. Augustine Grade School and Don Bosco High School in Milwaukee, WI; St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN (BA Sociology); UW-Milwaukee (MS Social Work). He was a social worker for many years. He switched careers and became a Business Financial Planner for MassMutual Insurance. In retirement he worked as a Substitute Teacher for the East Moline School District. He was an avid collector of Marine Corps memorabilia and Stetson hats.

John is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Dorothy Budish. He leaves behind his wife Laurie Peschang-Budish; his brother James (Martha Vance); his three sons John, Jr. (Christine), Jeremy (Natalie), Christopher (Wendy); his stepchildren Nicholas J. Peschang (Kathy), Jacquelyn Henson (Jace), Christina Peschang; 13 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, and other relatives.
