John Dox Campbell, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on January 8, 1947, to Dr. Nicholas Campbell and Julia Dox Campbell.
John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After he was honorably discharged, he finished school and began a career as a heavy equipment operator. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fr. Stephen Campbell.
John is survived by his children, Julie Campbell Wadsack with her husband Jacob Wadsack, Jane Campbell, Katie Campbell, Robin Campbell, and John C. Campbell with his wife Dr. Elena Campbell; his sister, Catherine M. Campbell with her husband Max Reichard; his brothers, Dr. Nicholas Campbell, Dr. Robert Campbell, Michael Campbell with his wife Mary Farr Campbell, and Patrick Campbell; his fifteen grandchildren and his nineteen great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 11485 Ferdinand Street in St. Francisville on Monday, January 27, 2025, beginning at 9AM with the Funeral Mass following at 11AM. Burial will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
