John Capalbo Obituary
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Umile and Louise E. Capalbo.
John worked as a Truck Driver for the RI Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed tinkering with them.
He was an Italian Cuisine afficionado, and he had an endless collection of paper towels on hand too when it was time to clean things up! He was well known as a man who could walk for miles and miles at a time even during many large snowstorms. He will always be remembered for his great sense of wit.
He leaves his niece Lizzie Draper and her husband Ned of Westerly, and nephew Damon Monty also of Westerly. John was predeceased by his sister Shirley Monty.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements. So sorry to see the loss if cousin John. I saw him for the first time last summer sitting on the concrete steps, when I turned on to George Street. I stopped and talked with him for a while. It was so long between actual contact, he didn't know who I was, but as soon as I told him we connected. He was always fun to talk too, and upbeat in many ways. Quiet and respectful is the way I will remember him. Just like his father. May He Rest in Peace.
