John David Caprise Jr.

John David "Johnny" Caprise Jr., 54, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on January 28, 2024. Johnny was born February 8, 1969 in Mineola, New York to John Caprise Sr. and the late Jeanne Theresa Caprise (nee Giordano).
As his nephew has said, Johnny was a true renaissance man. Johnny worked as a website designer, but his true passion was music, specifically guitar. He was able to share his gift as an incredibly talented, self-taught musician by teaching guitar at the School of Rock in Arizona. He had the God-given ability to pick up virtually any instrument and play it with ease. He wrote music, formed and performed in many rock bands during his high school, college and adult years with so many of his dear friends and equally talented musicians. Johnny inherited his mother's love of cooking and savoring all types of international cuisines. Johnny would make his own original coffee blends and was a beer connoisseur. He studied mass communication at Emerson College in Boston, but also had a deep interest in American and world history. And his love for the New York Islanders was second only to his love for his children. He enriched his life through education, arts, food, travel, knowledge and family.
Johnny was predeceased by his mother, Jeanne; his maternal grandparents, John and Mildred Giordano; his maternal uncle, James Giordano; and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Helen Caprise. He is survived by his children, Thomas John Caprise and Ash Helena Caprise; his former spouse, Christine Rayne Caprise; his father, John Caprise, Sr.; his sister, Tracy Anne Ferrara and her husband John; and his nephews, John Ferrara and Michael Ferrara.
