John Charles Carnright passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2025. He was 58.

John was born in Milford on March 12, 1966, son of the late James and Emily Carnright.

He graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1984. He attended two years at the Philadelphia School of Art pursuing his love of art and drawing.

John was employed as an HVAC Technician with the George Sherman Corporation for over 25 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Cedar Neck Hunt Club where he enjoyed deer and waterfowl hunting and hanging out on the farm with his special group of buddies.

John was quite the music buff and would often challenge us with his music trivia texts. He loved fishing whether from the surf at the local beaches or on the lake at the family cabin in Upstate New York, where we all strive to beat his notorious big mouth bass, that we jokingly refer to as “Walter”. He could also be found in front of the television on most Saturday mornings watching some good old cartoons.

I addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Barbara Carnright in 2018.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Christine Benson; two stepsons, Chandler Benson and Julien Benson-Reid; a sister, Diane C. Rogers and her husband Perry; a brother, James A. Carnright, Jr; two nephews, Perry W. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Tara; and Jeff Carnright and his wife Dafne; and a niece, Amy R. Allen and her husband Alex.

A celebration of his life will be held privately.
