ObituaryJohn E. Cary Jr. was born on October 27th, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Opal and John Cary Sr. He served in the Marine Corp in 1964-1968 where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He joined the Denver Fire Department in 1974 in Denver Colorado. On July 15, 2000 he married the love of life Michelle Freeborn. They were a blended family consisting of one daughter, Jacalyn Freeborn and one son, Marlon Cary. John was a caring and devoted father, papa, uncle, brother, and most of all a loving husband.
John's passion was service. He served his country in the Vietnam War. He served his community working as a firefighter for 36 years, along with many other charitable works. He helped his family whenever they were in need. He helped people, even when he was in need of help himself. Never, would a friend be alone for Thanksgiving dinner if he had anything to say about it. His smile would light up the world. There isn't enough that could be said about his compassion, humility, and kindness.
He is preceded in death by his mother Opal, Father John Cary Sr, and Son John Wayne Cary. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Cary, his son, Marlon Cary daughter, Jacalyn Freeborn, Sister, Velois Rausch, brother Lawren Cary and 4 grandchildren, Grayson, Jacob, Shamar and Jadin. John E. Cary passed away peacefully in his home in Elizabeth, Colorado where he lived with his wife on August 15th, 2021.
