John K. Cassidy II

John K. Cassidy II, 62, of Johnstown, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Pines at Catskill Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

John was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on July 19, 1963, a son of the late John "Jack" Cassidy and Marion Deveans Cassidy. He was educated at FFCS. He received his B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Computer Science from Suny New Paltz and SUNY Brockport.

John was employed for 20 years as a Data Analyst at the General Electric Company in Schenectady and later was employed at the Target Distribution Center in Amsterdam.

John enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He took delight in experiences that combined spending time with loved ones and sharing laughter. Those experiences included golfing, bowling, card playing, photography, playing music, and being outdoors. John was a talented drummer; he and his friends formed The Sadness Band as young adults. John cherished many pets throughout his life and found peace and joy in their presence. He attended Sacred Heart Church in Tribes Hill and the United Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam. John was also an avid NY Giants, Mets, and Rangers fan.

Survivors include his loving mother, Marion Cassidy of Saratoga Springs, NY; his four loving siblings Anne Cassidy (Tommy Guzek) of Saratoga Springs, Mary Beth Bisognano (Joseph) of Colonie, Thomas Cassidy of Ft. Johnson, Timothy Cassidy of Albany; and his nieces and nephews, Ian Baxter (Kristi), Carina, Anthony, Michael, and Sophia Bisognano.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 18th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church St. Amsterdam, NY, followed by a funeral service on Thursday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev.
