John James Cecala, devoted husband of 61 years to Agnes (nee Fricano), loving father of John Joseph (Julie) and Fred Edward (Kathleen), devoted son of the late John and Rose (nee Canzone), cherished grandfather of Kristina Scanlon (Ryan), Ian Cecala (Brianne), Alexandra Tiritilli (Christopher), Ryan Cecala, and John Paul Cecala (Juliet). Honored brother-in-law of Christine and Ray Holmquist, devoted cousin of Anthony Burkhardt; fond uncle of Susan Kopacz (Roger), Jacqueline Clabots (RJ), and Paul Holmquist (Jennifer). Great grandfather of Angelica, Julian, and Regina Scanlon, and Gia and Vincent Tiritilli. Kind and thoughtful caregivers David Alonzo, Ponciano Dimalanta, and Perry Fernandez. John is at peace after a long illness. Visitation and Christian burial services on Friday, December 9, St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 7600 W. North Ave, River Forest at 9:00 A.M. with Mass celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
