John Clinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes - Willoughby on Nov. 20, 2025.
John Edward Clinger, age 59, of Winter Springs, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2025. Born on July 11, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, John grew up with a deep connection to his hometown-a love that stayed with him no matter where life took him.

John was the beloved son of Jacqueline Clinger (née Sestak) and was preceded in death by his father, Edward Clinger. He was the cherished brother of Mary (Keith) Glivic; devoted life partner of Jennifer Espada; and a proud uncle to his nieces Cassandra, Jessica, and Madeline, and nephew Zackary. His family meant everything to him, and he never missed an opportunity to show his love, support, and pride in each of them.

A graduate of Lake Catholic High School in Mentor and Kent State University, John built a career in Financial Services. Yet, he was the first to say that life was meant to be lived, not worked away. Not long after college, John traded Ohio winters for Florida sunshine, embracing a simpler, more easygoing lifestyle. He believed in enjoying each day-time with family, a good laugh, and a cold beer in hand.

John's heart remained firmly rooted in Cleveland. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers, and cheering on his hometown teams brought him immense joy. His love for Cleveland sports was matched only by his love for Jen and his family. Whether gathered around the television for a big game or spending quiet time with the people he cared about, John understood what mattered most.

He will be remembered for his warmth, easygoing spirit, and the genuine kindness he carried through life. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. A Prayer Service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
