John Clinton Stone,77, of Temple passed away peacefully in a Temple hospital, on August 3, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00P.M. Friday August 11, 2023 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton with Pastor Danny Brey officiating. His body was cremated.

John was born in Corpus Christi on July 8, 1946 to Pinkey and Rose Wolffe Stone.

John was known for his love of country music, his passion for outdoor pursuits, and his warm, loving personality.

John spent the majority of his professional career at Wilson Art, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated employee, always ready to lend a hand and share a smile. His positive impact extended beyond the walls of his workplace, reaching into the community where he was an active participant in pool leagues.

A true Texan at heart, John was an avid outdoorsman. Whether he was casting a line in a peaceful fishing spot, tracking game during hunting season, or cooking up his catch of the day, he was happiest when he was immersed in nature. His love for the great outdoors was only surpassed by his love for country music. His family fondly recalls how John's face would light up whenever a classic country tune played on the radio.

John is survived by his son Shaun Stone and his wife Ana, along with their daughter Anastasia, all of Cypress, Texas. The bond between John and his family was a testament to his loving nature. He was known as a devoted father and grandfather, always ready with a kind word or a comforting hug. His memory will be cherished by his family, and his influence will continue to guide them in their lives.

He was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the everyday moments of life. His hearty laughter and warm smile will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John Clinton Stone lived a life full of love, passion, and dedication. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family. His life was a testament to the impact that one loving individual can have on the world around them. As we remember John, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.

Clint, I miss you very much. Especially today on a Friday, which is the day of the week, when we consistently met for lunch. We would talk about family, fishing, current events, politics, and solve the world's problems all in an hour or so.
I was always amazed how neat and organized you were with everything. You inspired me to become more like you in that respect. I' m still working on it. LOL.
When you were in the hospital you asked me to go and get you a change of clothes at your residence. Your closet was so neat everything neatly ironed, organized and categorized, to include your baseball caps all lined up in row. And of course, you knew where everything was located as usual. I smiled and expected nothing less. Mr. Organized.

During past 30 years or more that we have known each other we had some great time more than i can count, conversing, fishing and being there for each other in good times and bad times. We have definitely had some great times. Remembering back, we were bass fishing out of your boat on Lake Bastrop in a bass club tournament. The fishing gods were looking favorable down on us that day. You started catching fish on a Spinnerbait. It didn't take long before I knew I needed to tie on a spinnerbait, and began digging in my tackle box for one. you saw I was having trouble finding one, so you told me to get one exactly like yours out of your tackle box. You told me exactly where to look and of course find one immediately. We were each culling several two and three pound fish. We both had 5 fish weighing approximately twenty five pounds. That was one of those great fishing days that you only dream about and one to remember.
I just want to say thank you it's been and honor and privilege to have you as my friend. You were a good role model, having impeccable integrity and gave me inspiration to be a good person. for that I thank you.
By now I know you're in heaven and have neatly organized and categorized your angel wings by size and shapes. lol .
The last things we said to each other was "I'll see you tomorrow". We didn't know that tomorrow wasn't going to happen for us. If I would have known, I would have never left your side.
Rest in Peace my friend, I know you're in a better place now and one day we shall meet again.
Your friend, Eleno Alvarado.
