John C. Cockram Jr.

John Calvin Cockram Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and master electrician, passed away peacefully on March 5,2025, at the age of 69 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Born July 18, 1955, in Gastonia, North Carolina, John resided in Eastover, South Carolina, for over 30 years, where he built a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a spirit of quiet strength.
John is survived by his children, Crystal Clamp (Michael) and Joseph Cockram (Julianna); sisters Elizabeth Schuesler (Scott) and Cynthia Sowers (Ed);7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, nieces, and nephew. John was preceded in death by his parents John and JoNell Cockram and sister Beatrice Cribb.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11am at Trinity Church, 1501 Hallbrook Dr. in Columbia. John was not a fancy man and as such he would want people to be comfortable, so please feel free to dress casually.
