Four Oaks, NC: Mr. John Roland Collier, age 93 of Penny Street passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 10:45AM on Friday, December 26, 2025 prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Dr. Robert Cooke. Burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery in Four Oaks.
Mr. Collier was born on September 9, 1932 in Johnston County to the late Berry and Minnie Pollard Collier. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Collier; a daughter, Diane Stewart; a grandson, Joseph Guerrera; a great-granddaughter, Raven Stewart; and several beloved brothers and sisters. Mr. Collier retired from Burlington Mills as a maintenance supervisor. He loved traveling to the mountains and riding horses. Mr. Collier loved his little farm, working in his yards and gardening. You could find him most of the time in his recliner watching his favorite westerns on Grit TV. Mr. Collier took pride in his blueberry bushes and grapevines.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth W. Collier; children, Brenda Tart, Greg Collier and wife, Connie, Clay Norris and wife, Patty, Doyle Collier and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Dianna Hill and husband, Michael, Jeremy Stewart and wife, Rhonda, Rachel Newman and husband, Billy, Amanda Stewart, Will Tart, Christopher Tart and fiancé, Kinsee Wise, Patrick Norris and wife, Hannah, Alex Huett and husband, Kite, Gregory Collier, II, and wife, Kaylee, Walker Norris and wife, Liberty; nine great-grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews.
