Funeral Mass for John Dale Cormier of Hessmer will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Fr. Derek Ducote officiating. Entombment will follow at the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.
John Dale Cormier, age 60, passed away on Thursday, November 02, 2023, at the Hessmer Nursing Home. Dale was married for 40 years to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping, and especially loved sitting by a campfire. Dale was kind and gentle. His smile was contagious. He loved deeply and loved to make others smile and laugh. He started his career with the Lemoine Co. 40-plus years ago as a carpenter. His hard work and determination led him to Field Engineer on commercial jobs in buildings such as hospitals and schools. He took great pride in his work.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Rachal Cormier of Hessmer; daughter, Meagan Cormier Burke (Brandon) of Hessmer; son, Dustin Taylor Cormier of Nacogdoches, TX; grandson, Drake Joseph Burke of Hessmer; his parents, Lyman & Isabelle Cormier of Hessmer; his siblings, Bradley Cormier (Gwen) of Hessmer, Kenneth Cormier (Hang) of Hessmer, Kathy Michel (Gerald) of Hessmer, and Debbie Bernard (Johnny) of Plaucheville. He leaves behind many friends and family.
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Rosary prayer service at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until 10:45am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
