John Ray Crawford Jr

John R. Crawford, Jr., age 65, passed away on January 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was born on November 15, 1960, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to John R. Crawford, Sr. and Dorothea "Dot" Crawford. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, he was a proud graduate of Baylor School, Class of 1979.

John dedicated many years of service to Archer-Daniels-Midland, from which he later retired. Outside of work, he embraced life with enthusiasm and adventure. He loved exploring trails in his Jeep, spending time on the water fishing or diving, and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible. John truly lived life to the fullest.

Family and friends were at the heart of everything John did. He was a member of Elks Lodge #91 and generously gave his time volunteering at local food banks. Always dependable and willing to help, John could be counted on whenever someone was in need. He will be fondly remembered as a gentle, kind, and caring soul-a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.

John is survived by his sister, Wanda Crawford Hale of Chattanooga, and his niece, Erika Marie Hale (Travis) Estrella of Lakeridge, Virginia.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Brent Roe officiating.
