Travis Wade Barnett

Travis "Tubby" Wade Barnett, 61, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Chattanooga Health & Rehab. He grew up in Johnson City, TN, briefly lived in Asheville, NC, but found his home in Chattanooga, TN, in 1999. He worked in grocery sales and marketing with Acosta and Advantage Solutions. He was an avid music lover and had volumes of knowledge that even encyclopedias would envy. Music was a constant in his life and something he loved sharing with others. He had a wide circle of friends and was deeply loved by many people. He was a familiar face to many and spent countless hours enjoying conversation and camaraderie at his favorite neighborhood bar, Rumors.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, A.R. and Maxine Barnett; brother, David Barnett; nephews, Lance Barnett and Matthew Barnett; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include: sister, Robin Cole of Johnson City; brother; Darryl Barnett of Richmond, KY; two nieces Nikki Cornelius and her husband Keith of Fishers, IN, and Alexa Barnett of Knoxville; nephew Heath Barnett and his wife Jill of Berea, KY; cousin Georgette Ward and her husband Lane of Piney Flats, TN; several cousins, aunts and uncles; and far too many friends to list.

There will be a tribute and celebration of life on Saturday, March 21, 2026, beginning at 1 PM at Rumors, 3884 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, TN.
