John Douglas Crouse, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born on December 5, 1933, in Kanorado, Kansas, to Loris Helen and Jacob Dewey Crouse, John’s early years were marked by family moves across Wyoming for his father’s work. He spent much of his childhood in Laramie with his siblings, Helen Fay and Hugh Worth, and graduated from Laramie High School in 1951.
Following graduation, John began working for the Union Pacific Railroad before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He served honorably as a tank instructor and sniper; skills that spoke to his courage dedication.
After his military service, John attended Hobart Welding School in Ohio and later moved to Denver, Colorado, to begin his career. There, he married and welcomed his only son, Jack Douglas Crouse. Though later divorced, John devoted himself to raising his son with unwavering love and support.
John is survived by his son, Jack, and daughter-in-law, Shirley; four grandchildren: Jacob Douglas Crouse, Chelsea Allena Crouse, Kaitlyn Lee Mote, and Ian Edward Crouse; and six
great-grandchildren: Jakie, Amber, Edward, Benny, Nathan, and Chloe. His legacy of hard work, resilience, and devotion to family will live on through them.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
