Orene Estelle Crouse

Orene "Rene" E. Crouse, 82, of Lincoln Park, Mich., passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

Born September 8, 1943, in Detroit, Mich., to Orrin Jr and Marian Van Loon, Orene grew up in Berkley MI enjoying music and serving in her father's church. She graduated from Detroit Bible College and later worked for - and retired from - Allstate Insurance. Orene faithfully served the Lord by playing piano for many congregations throughout her life. When she wasn't playing, she often led Bible studies, solved crossword puzzles, or enjoyed a meal out.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barclay Crouse, and her sons, David and Daniel. She is survived by her son Timothy (Vicky) Wilson; step sons Sean (Kim) Crouse and Peter (Janine) Crouse; siblings Orrin III (Linda), Kenneth (Kathie), and Cynthia (Rick); and grandchildren Mya, Mason, Alichia, Caleb, and Adara.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Berkley Community Church on Friday, January 23, from 3–7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hope City Church in Allen Park on Saturday January, 24 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
