John Kyle Crumpacker, 85, of Gypsum, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born February 20, 1940 in McPherson, the son of Oscar O. and Rae (Nichols) Crumpacker. He grew up in rural Roxbury and graduated from Roxbury High School. John was a farmer and rancher, living most of his life in the Roxbury/Gypsum/Canton area.
On April 19, 1970 he was united in marriage to Virginia Kliewer at Canton. John was a member of the Canton Community Church and a lifetime member of the Farmers Union.
Survivors include his wife Virginia; two sons, Tom Crumpacker of Gypsum and Rex (Kathy) Crumpacker, Joplin, Missouri; a daughter, Carol (Dan) Niemeyer, McPherson; one sister, Judy (Ron) Wenger, Salina; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son Curtis, daughter-in-law Dawn Crumpacker and two sisters, Fae June Pope and Virginia Kliewer.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Canton Community Church with Pastor Mike MIller presiding. Interment will be in Canton Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, March 10, 2025 at the church.
Memorials have been established with the church or the Canton Senior Center, in care of Olson's Mortuary, Canton.
