John Crush Obituary

John Willard Crush

Willard passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Tennova Hospital. He attended West End Baptist Church in Athens. He was born to Lee and Lucy Crush on July 6, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 51 years Jane Watson Crush and brother, James Crush.

He is survived by loving companion Janice Olsen of Athens, son and daughter- in-Law Scott and Sonya Crush, grandchildren Alex and Molly Crush all of Sweetwater and Emily and Adam Shea of Nashville. Great grandchildren Jackson Lee Crush, Linnie Jane Crush (with whom he proudly shared a birthday) and Hayes Philip Shea. Also survived by sister and brother-in-law Sara and David Brown of Rossville, GA and a host of other family. Willard was blessed with a bonus family when he met Janice and was cherished by each of them.

Willard's legacy is instilling in his family the importance of hard work and providing well for your family. He worked as a machinist and loved farming on the side. He loved a good deal and would never turn down anything free. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and love of a good joke.
