On February 1, 2026, John Cubero Jr. passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, at 87 years old.
John was preceded in death by his son, Steven J. Cubero, and grandson William Brajevich.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sonia Cubero.

Grandchildren: Chris Brajevich (spouse Liz Brajevich), Chris Rutledge, Marisa Cubero (spouse Chuck Pilette), Eryika Cubero, Kynan Cubero (spouse Kora Cubero), Shira Cubero, Cassandra Cubero (spouse Kai), Adrienne Nelson (spouse Ryan Nelson)
Great-grandchildren: Alexis Brajevich, Cason Pilette, Cohen Pilette, Ryan Brajevich, Arabella Acala, Lyric Rutledge, Nyah Cubero, Greyson Cubero, Rhett Nelson, Ryler Nelson
John was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to tease and joke. His family was everything to him. He provided for his family as a painting contractor. He loved the water, nature, and his beloved dog, Dakota. He will be missed.
