John "Jack" J. Curran, age 66, beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Lenz) Curran, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 11 at Lowell General Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Medford on May 3, 1957, a son of the late Andrew J. Jr and Pauline B. Curran. Jack was predeceased by his sister Patricia, brother-in-law Michael and niece Christina.
Jack had been residing at Sunny Acres in Chelmsford for the last several years. The staff was wonderful; words cannot express his family's gratitude for the compassionate care he received. Everyone there loved him and he enjoyed participating in group activities, especially Bingo.
Besides his wife of 34 years, he is survived by his sister Barbara Madsen of Hollis, NH, and Dorothy Fagella and her husband Thomas of Whittingham, VT. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as his many friends who loved him dearly.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, January 16, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3 – 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 17, at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
