John Wesley Daggett, 76, of Rowlett, TX, passed on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was born Dec. 09, 1948, in Newport, AR, son of the late Wesley and Susan Daggett and was also preceded by his sister Judy Thomason.
After serving two tours in Vietnam in the Navy, John graduated college at Henderson State University. From there, he attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI where he met and married Jackie on May 12, 1973. After 30 years of active and reserve service, he retired as a Commander. He also had a 23-year federal civil service career in transportation and logistics. He loved learning new things, traveling, being outdoors, scuba diving, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
John is survived by his loving family, his wife of 52 years, Dorothy “Jackie” Gleason-Daggett; his son, Justin Wesley Daggett; his grandchildren Jordan and Alex; his brothers Wayne and Dale Daggett; his sisters Linda Schoonover, Eunice West, Shirley Gray, Frances Key, and Martha Womack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and wonderful friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 in Ruggles Wilcox Chapel in Arkadelphia.
