John A. Dalrymple of Whitman, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2026, at the age of 63.
John, or “Johnny D” as he was best known, was a PGA golf professional who spent many years working, and golfing at a variety of courses throughout Massachusetts, the Carolinas, and Florida. He had special ties and memories to Brook Meadow Country Club, Milton Hoosic Club, and Furnace Brook Country Club with his son. In his most recent years, he worked at Smitherz Landscape where he developed cherished friendships. When he was not playing golf, his true passion in life was cheering on his grandson at hockey games and spending time with his family whenever possible. John had a larger-than-life presence, who was fun to be around, and known for his unique sense of humor. He will truly be missed by all who know him.
John was predeceased by his father and mother, William and Shirley Dalrymple. Loving father of John C. Dalrymple and his wife Kerri of Hull. Cherished brother of Bill Dalrymple and his wife Sheri of Frisco, TX, Rob Dalrymple and his wife Toni of Mesa, AZ, and Johnnie Steve Dalrymple and his wife Aurora of Tewksbury. Devoted “Pops” to Cameron Dalrymple, the light of his life. Also survived by his former spouse Deborah Bennett, dear friend Joyce Cox, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Per John's wishes, there will not be any services.
