Mr. De La Cerda was born September 17, 1951 in Ballinger to Juan and Eva De La Cerda. Johnny D has been a resident of San Angelo since 1980. Johnny D married Lucy Morquecho, the love of his life, on July 23, 1994 in San Angelo. He worked for the San Angelo City Water Department as a backhoe operator for 28 years retiring in April of 2014. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, believing there was no other cycle than a Harley Davidson. You could catch him on a cruise on the Three Sisters Highway, hair flowing through the Texas Hill country. He was an avid Houston Texans, Houston Astros, and the old Houston Oilers Fan. He loved to go fishing. Johnny D held the O.C. Fisher Lake record for Blue Catfish for 23 years at 52 1/2 lbs, that was finally broken just last week.
