John E. DeGrange Sr.

1943 - 2024

John E. DeGrange Sr., age 80 died November 5,2024 at his residence in Severn, MD. He was born November 7,1943 in Frederick, MD to Francis Ward DeGrange and Edith Burns DeGrange. A graduate of Loyola Blakefield in 1961, he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1970 after six years of proud service. He and his family, owned and operated the DeGrange Lumber Company in Glen Burnie for over 50 years. He served as a board member for several Banks in the area, he was also an active member of the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, MD. A devoted family man, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. "Donna" DeGrange, daughter, Denise Carpintieri (Bob), son, John "Jack DeGrange Jr. (Ammie). Grandchildren, Krystal Cotriss (James), Heather Kooser (Steven), Emily Login (Jon), Jack DeGrange III (Aislinn), Timothy, Sarah, Noah, Luke, Elizabeth and Matthew DeGrange. Also survived by his great-grandchildren, Steven, Madelynn, Max, Philomena, Genevieve and Romey: and his siblings, Joyce Wiesner, F. Ward DeGrange Jr., Katherine Shipley and James "Ed" DeGrange. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother David. A viewing will be held on Tuesday November 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hardesty Funeral Home P.A. 851 Annapolis Road Gambrills, MD 21054. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday in the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church 1070 Cecil Ave S. Millersville, MD 21108. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
