Mr. John M. Dempsey

John M. Dempsey of Reading passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was 76 years of age. Born on May 5, 1940 in Boston, John was the loving son of the late Stanton Dempsey and Katherine (Fahey) Dempsey. John was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed. John was a consummate family man. He loved his home and his family and adored his children. John was proud to be an Irishman. He enjoyed cooking, beer and his BCIC (Big Chair In Corner). John was the beloved husband for 57 years of his high school sweetheart, Adeline (Rock) Dempsey. He was the devoted father of Michael Dempsey and his wife Kathleen, Joseph Dempsey and Mary McGrath and her husband Kevin. The cherished grandfather of Sean Dempsey and his wife Katie, Patrick Dempsey, Connor Dempsey and his wife Haley, Addie McGrath and Maeve McGrath, John was the doting great grandfather of Ceianna, Freddie and Michael. Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Thursday, May 4th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating John's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10am.
