John Destefano Obituary

John A. DeStefano
John "Jack" A. DeStefano, age 82, passed away peacefully, with his son by his side, on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Born in Waterbury on May 15, 1943, John was the son of the late John and Fay (Panella) DeStefano. He attended local schools and proudly served in the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Germany, as well as serving during the Vietnam War. John was a printer by trade, learning his trade while in the service and continued his printing business, alongside his dad after returning home from the service. He especially enjoyed his time being outside in the sun and sitting by the water.
He had a witty sense of humor and loved being silly. John had a unique gift for brightening any room and making those around him smile. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him.
John is survived by his son, John DeStefano of Athens, GA, and his wife, Beate; and his grandchildren, Sarah DeStefano and Rhea DeStefano, both of Germany. He also leaves his sisters, Christine Carusillo of Florida, and Carol Ambrose of Wolcott; as well as one niece, several nephews, and many cousins.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Maiorano Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. To sign the online guestbook, or to leave online condolences for the family, please visit www.maioranofuneralhome.com .
