John was born on February 16, 1927 and passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. John was a resident of Phico, West Virginia at the time of passing. Mr. Dingess was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the 822nd Military Police. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Harry Joe Dingess officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Visitation at the Freeman Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on February 23, 2019. In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to Dignity Hospice House in Chapmanville, WV.

My condolences to the Dingess family. They were our neighbors and friends growing up in Logan. John was a fine man and as big as a mountain to me.His sons and I played baseball together and he would always take us to our games in Peach Creek and other places. Many memories, so sorry for your loss.
