John Dingo-lovingly known as Dad, Papa John, and Papaw-passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at his home in Batavia, Ohio.
John was born on October 28, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, to the late John and Anne Dingo. He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda Dingo (née Lansing); his parents; his brothers, Bobby Dingo (Marylin) and Barry Dingo (Donna); and many other cherished loved ones.
John is survived by his sons, Johnny (Cassie) and Bryan (Lynn), and was a devoted and proud Papaw to his grandchildren: Brett (Kayla), Hali (Jacob), Cloe, Brendan (Emily), and Cameron (Ben). He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (John); his nieces, Becky (Shawn) and Jennifer; his lifelong best friend, Glenny Jones (Diane) and many other relatives and friends.
John served honorably in the US Navy, retired from Container Corporation of America and greatly enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing-pursuits that brought him happiness. Above all, he was amazingly devoted to Linda, a terrific father, a loving grandfather, and a loyal friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will hold a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of John's late wife, Linda, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
