John Dodson Obituary

John was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He loved old cars, trucks, guns, knives, and fishing. John enjoyed telling stories from the good ole days when he drove big trucks and traveled coast to coast. He was a big Elvis fan and loved his old country music. John was a devoted grandfather who was known as "Grandpa" or "Baw Paw". He was a hero to his family and will be dearly missed.
John was preceded in death by his wife: Donnell Dodson; parents: Paul and Susan Dodson; brothers: David Dodson and Paul Dodson Jr.; sisters: Mabel Blake, Gayle Fierge, Martha Brown, Carolyn Dodson, and Linda Davis; and grandson: Brandon Underwood.
He is survived by his sons: Ricky Lee Dodson, John Paul Dodson and wife Yvonne, all of Kermit, TX, Millard Dodson and wife Geralee of Wink, TX; daughters: Rhonda Maxey and husband Bruce of Broken Arrow, OK, Robin Spann and husband Benjamin of Grandfalls, TX and Linda Wascom and husband Robert of Hobart, OK; sister: Barbara Jerichow of Mexico, MO; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandkids.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, TX. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, officiated by J. T. Fierge. Pallbearers are: David Fierge, Matthew Fierge, Kevin Fierge, Blade Dodson, Floyd Underwood, Billy Underwood, Tyler Dodson, and Jerry Jerichow. Honorary Pallbearers will include: T. K. Pipkin, Tom Murray, and all the coffee drinking buddies.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family at www.fs-fp.com.
