It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Scott Dolan on January 29, 2025, at the age of 82. He was a cherished individual known for his kind, loving, and humorous personality. He loved interacting with all people whether he knew them or not and treated everyone with respect and kindness. Laughter was guaranteed wherever he was present.
John was a Certified Public Accountant. He joined Price Waterhouse & Co. in Cleveland in 1965. He moved with his wife, Jann Altham Dolan, to the Atlanta office. They had three daughters: Deborah Lynn, Kelley Sue, and Amy Kathleen. John became controller of several companies over the following years and eventually returned to Sharon, PA where he started his own Accounting Firm, The Dolan Group LLC.
John married Janet (Jan) (Stoup) Dolan on September 25, 1993, and shared many wonderful years together. After retirement, John and Jan moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 2011 for Jan to continue her career.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Stoup Dolan, his daughters Kelly Orris of Pittsburgh, and Amy Dinorscio of Boca Raton, Florida, stepdaughter Dr. Kristen Jones of Durhan, N.C., 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and siblings Thomas Dolan of San Francisco, Toni Eaton of Santa Rosa, and Julie Dolan Cylenica of Sharon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 8 at 9:00 a.m. at the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, 2325 Highland Rd, Hermitage, PA 16148, followed by a breakfast reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Mercer County Food Bank via their website at https://mercercountyfoodbank.org or via Mercer County Foodbank 109 S. Sharpsville Ave, Suite A, Sharon, PA 16146, (724) 981-0353.
