John Robert Doling

John Robert Doling 94, of Princeville, Illinois passed away on Saturday October 8, 2022 at Heritage Manor of Chillicothe, Illinois. He was born on October 2, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Roy and Golda (Spencer) Doling. John married Ann Carolyn Umphres in 1953. They divorced in 1966. He
married Alta Simpson in 1970.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Field Lineman. John served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. John later worked for Caterpillar Inc. as an assembler for many years retiring in 1983.
John is survived by three sons and a daughter, Matt (Linda) Doling of Princeville, Illinois; Mark (Stephanie) Doling of Castle Rock, Colorado, Jim Doling of Phoenix, Arizona, Rebecca (Richard) Deils of Tucson, Arizona, two stepchildren, Carol Diefendorf of Elmwood, IL and David Tucker of Inidiana, eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alta Doling; two brothers, two sisters and a great grandson.
Cremation Rites have been entrusted to Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home in Peoria, Illinois. An inurnment will be held at a later date at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois.
