John Donner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox Funeral Home - Cole Camp on Feb. 4, 2026.
John Charles Donner, 87, of Cole Camp, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at Lincoln Community Care Center, Lincoln. He was born on February 24, 1938, in Winterset, Iowa, a son of John Randolph and Doris (Gill) Donner.

He attended Lorimar School in Lorimor, Iowa, where he met his future wife, Bettie Boo Sharp. They were married on November 10, 1956, at Des Moines, Iowa. This union was blessed with two children: Minda and Jeffrey.

John served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Hawaii for four years. He also worked for Ford Motor Company in Bettendorf, Iowa, and in banking and finance for many years until retiring and moving to Cole Camp, Missouri.

He and Bettie loved traveling in their RV and spending winters in the South. John loved his family, get-togethers, and time spent with grandchildren. He was a very friendly and outgoing man who never knew a stranger and had a generous heart.

He is survived by his daughter, Minda Jones and Ed of Clinton, Missouri; son, Jeffrey Donner of California, Missouri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and also a special friend, Delores Wessley of Stover, Missouri.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Donner and Doris Vaskowitz, his stepmother, Dorothea Donner, his wife, Bettie Donner, and his brother, Larry Dean Donner.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Assembly of God Youth Center, 807 N. Wood Street, Warsaw, Missouri 65355.
