Dudas, John P. Jr. age 69 of Hampton Twp., NJ passed away, Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Newton Medical Center following a brief illness and long battle with liver disease. Born and raised in Linden, NJ, John has resided in Hampton Township since 1999.
John was a retired truck driver and hauler for Mt. Hope Trucking of Wharton, NJ. He began his career at 18, working with his father for their family trucking business. John was a farmer at heart and truly enjoyed running his farm "Twin Pond Acres" in Hampton Twp. A devout parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church Branchville, NJ, John was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Don Bosco Knights of Columbus Council #7784.
An avid hunter, John was a member of the New Jersey Sportmen's Club, several local Hunting and Gun Clubs, as well as a well-respected breeder of German Short Haired Pointers. In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing in Englishtown, NJ and rebuilding cars. John was known to put a smile on anyone's face and was an avid story teller. Also known to always be there for anyone in need whether family, friends, or strangers that he met along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Dudas was predeceased by his father John Dudas Sr, and a brother George Dudas. Survivors include his beloved wife, Constance (Connie) A. nee Mariani Dudas, his daughters Maria Dudas of Hardyston Twp., and Angela DeMillio and son-in-law Alfonso Pavone, and Lisa DeMillio all of Newton, NJ. Also surviving is his granddaughter, Maria Pavone, his mother, Arlene Dudas of Linden, NJ, his sister, Paulette and her husband Jim Weiss of Scotch Plains, NJ as well as his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday April 2, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main Street (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday April 3, 2025 at 10 AM in the Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church #209 Rt. 206 Branchville, NJ 07826. Interment will follow in the Saint Gertrude Roman Catholic Cemetery #53 Inman Ave. Colonia, NJ 07067. Online condolences may be given at www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace, in Branchville, NJ.
