James G. "Woody" Wallace, age 65 of Hampton Township, NJ passed away Thursday August 7th, 2025 at the University Hospital in Newark, NJ following a long illness. Born in Teaneck, NJ James grew up in Ridgefield Park and had lived many years in Saddle Brook before moving to Hampton Twp. in 1989.

Son of the late David and Jean (Soine) Wallace, James was a graduate of the Ridgefield Park High School class of 1977, where he was a talented Ice Hockey player. A lifelong sports fan, he especially loved the NY Rangers, NY Yankees, NY Mets, and the Miami Dolphins, and often attended baseball games with friends and family. Beyond sports, James was an avid model railroad and train enthusiast.

A loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend of many, James enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. He was predeceased by his brother David Wallace and sister Karen Wallace as well as his cherished dog Buddy this past March.

Survivors include his beloved wife of forty-one years Dorinda (Mendez), his sons Ian J. Wallace and his fiancé Julianne Worgul, and Sean R. Wallace and his fiancé Cheyenne Lupo. Also surviving are his brothers Gary Wallace and Richard and his wife Najda Wallace as well as his sister Linda and her husband John Schmitt.

Visitation will be held Tuesday August 12, 2025 from 4-7:30 PM with Funeral Services beginning at 730 PM all in the in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main Street (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ 07860. Private cremation services will follow. In lieu of flowers memorials in James's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org. Online condolences may be given at www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com.
