John E. Strebe, a dedicated individual who worked in the paper industry for many years, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2024 in Appleton. He was born on March 29, 1935, in Menasha, where he grew up surrounded by the love of his family.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed hunting in his younger years and cherished spending time with friends at Tony's Bar. He was actively involved in the community as a member of the Menasha Legion Post and when he spent winters in Arizona, he contributed to the Amvets organization.
The Funeral Liturgy to honor John's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 12, 2004, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. A visitation is planned for August 12, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM. Following the mass the family will depart to St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha for the burial ceremony.
John was a loving father survived by six children: Bambi Johnson, John Strebe, Lori Hampp, Paula Jansen, Eric Strebe, and Abbie Strebe. He was also cherished by his former wife Susan (nee Keberlein) Strebe, a sister Margaret Hopfensperger, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
In remembrance of John's life, let us celebrate his remarkable journey and the impact he had on those around him. May his legacy continue to live on through the memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, John E. Strebe.
