John Eisfeldt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home on Feb. 27, 2026.
John Paul Eisfeldt Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 25, 2026. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2026 at the funeral home.

John was born on February 1, 1950, in Cameron, Texas, to John Sr. and Alice Junek Eisfeldt. He attended school in Cameron and graduated in the class of 1969 from Yoe High School. He spent his early years farming alongside his father, learning the value of hard work and responsibility that stayed with him throughout his life.

John went on to build a long and dedicated career at Alcoa, where he worked for 38 years before retiring. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family.

John met the love of his life, Judy, through her Uncle Weldon. Together they built a life centered on family and welcomed their first and only child, Christopher, who remained the pride and joy of John's life.

In his quieter moments, John found happiness in the simple routines he loved most, checking on his cattle each day, spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoying a cold Dr. Pepper. John was known affectionately as Opa to his grandchildren. He was also seen around town in his signature overalls.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Neeley Eisfeldt; his parents, John Sr. and Alice Junek Eisfeldt; his sisters, Mae Eisfeldt Mays, Evelyn Hilliard, and Gloria Ann Eisfeldt; his brothers, Johnny Carroll Eisfeldt and William Eisfeldt; and his brothers- and sister-in-law, Arthur Mays, Jack Hilliard, and Doris Fay Eisfeldt.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Eisfeldt, and wife, Caitlin, of Cameron, Texas, and their two young children; his brother, Robert Eisfeldt, of Cameron, Texas; his sister, Edna Eisfeldt, of Brownwood, Texas; his brother, David Eisfeldt, and wife, Miraflor, of Waco, Texas; and many other relatives and loved ones.
