John Edwin Elliott, age 70, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was a native of Linden, TX and resident of Plaquemine, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the service Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
John is survived by his wife, Darlene Daigle Elliott of Bayou Blue; daughters, Tammy Elliott of Bayou Blue, Michelle Klingman (James) of Bayou Blue; grandson, Taylor Brunet of Bayou Blue; brother, Howard Elliott of Conway, AR, Mark Elliott of Iowa, LA ; sister; Lisa Elliott Wood of Foley, AL
John is preceded in death by his parents, Julian "Buddy" Elliott and Betty Sevin; step-father, Melvin Sevin; step-mother, Betty Elliott Dillehay; brother, Donald Elliott; son-in-law, Luke Brunet; beloved grandmother, Emma Brooks "Mama Brooks."
John served honorably in the Army, demonstrating a deep sense of duty and commitment to his country. A man of faith, he was a devout Christian who found solace and guidance in the pages of his Bible. His passions extended to the great outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting deer and riding his motorcycle. As a fan of Nascar, he found joy in the thrill of the race, and he cherished quiet moments spent playing chess with his grandson, Taylor.
John will be remembered for his warm spirit and the love he shared with his family and friends.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
