John Ellison Obituary
Funeral Services, 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at First Christian Church, Ramseur. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM in the sanctuary and other times at the home of Thomas and Diann Ellison.
Officiating, Rev. Garry Arnett.
Burial, Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
John was born in Tallahassee, FL, was a longtime resident of Randolph County, and a 1974 graduate of Eastern Randolph High School. He gave of his time and service to the United States Army, having achieved SPC E4, been a member of the 1st Special Forces Command and receiving the Meritorious Service Metal as well as several other recognitions. In his younger years, he enjoyed flying planes, scuba diving and skydiving. John was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Louise Brown Ellison, as well as his sister, Louise Wilson, and brothers, Jackson and William Ellison.
Survivors: sisters, Stella E. McCollum, of Asheboro, Vicki E. Barton, of Greensboro, brother, Thomas Ellison and wife, Diann, of Asheboro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur.
