There has not been a day throughout my life that you cross my mind in thoughts and through memories. As you now are in the heavens above you remain in my thoughts. It was elementary we would meet and as the day shared it would be in kinder spirit as you chased me on the playground, pulling my hair or whispering in class that linked us forever in time. You were my friend and my protector. I miss you wishing we had shared more time. Sending love in the heavens and wonder if you see Ricky.

I an so sorry to hear of Johns passing. I remember him well, my friend - we went many places in his VW Beetle.

It would be in elementary when we met, sitting in the desk behind me, pulling on my ponytail and looking all innocent when I turned around, seeing that beautiful smile upon your face and the gleam in your eyes, I knew it was just an expression to say you were my friend. The many recess times we spent together on the playground, running and chasing one another. I have never forgotten the day I was chasing you with all my might, when I fell and broke my arm. You rushed over to me, picking me up and walking me to the teacher, all while comforting me, ensuring me I was going to be alright. The next day I came to school with arm in cast and you were the first person that would sign it, drawing a little heart with a smile. We sat together at lunch and walked the halls of Northwoods Elementary throughout the years. We would gather together in the evening time in the neighborhood, 'under the streetlamp' to play a game of 'fox n hounds' continuing the chasing of one another, as we had on the playground. You showed me how to smash a can clamping it to my shoe and we would walk around the street making all sorts of noise and of course beginning a chase, with the cans releasing themselves and we would just lay on the ground laughing at ourselves. In our youth we did not know that our families had moved to Northwoods from the same neighborhood in Kirkwood, where my brother Ricky and your sister Cherrie went to school together and their friendship continued throughout time and ours began. As we grew up and went our separate ways, I never forgot you and thoughts of you were often, through the times shared and memories made, that I held deep within my soul. It would be later in time that we reconnected, and you came to Georgia to attend a class reunion. It would be then you introduced me to your lovely wife and shared your story from the passing times. Johnny, you became the man, God intended you to be, continuing blessing many souls that crossed your path. Your light shined upon many souls, and you made this world a better place. My heart is sad you are gone, knowing I can't hear your voice or see your smiling face one more time, but I know just as you smiled upon me on that day in elementary, you will always be smiling down on me, through a new beautiful star that has been added to the sky above. I believe in my heart that my brother Ricky was there to welcome you to the heavens above and I know that you both walk together, just as we all did in our youth. I'm sending love and hugs to you and if you will share with him. I love you always, my friend, thank you for being in my life and in my heart. I pray that there will be peace for all, as this transition is traveled. You will never be forgotten. R.I.P.
