Mr. John Thomas “Bookie” Ervin, age 82
Of Waverly, TN passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at his home. He was born January 13, 1942, in Nashville, TN.
Bookie devoted over 20 years of his professional life to the Pipefitters’ Union # 572, where his commitment and expertise gained him respect amongst colleagues and peers. His work ethic and integrity set a standard that inspired others in the trade.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bookie was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in nature through hunting and fishing, activities that brought him closer to the outdoors and allowed him to share treasured moments with family and friends. Bookie also had a profound appreciation for classic westerns, often seen enjoying those timeless stories that depicted enduring themes of heroism and camaraderie.
Bookie leaves behind cherished memories that will resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until service time Thursday, October 17th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Bookie Ervin will be conducted at 1:00pm Thursday, October 17, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Freddie Carney officiating.
Interment will follow in Wilkins Cemetery in Only, TN.
