John Mario Espinosa, 55, of Astoria, New York, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026.

He was born on November 6, 1970, in Medellín, Colombia, to Isolina Marin Agudelo and Abelardo Espinosa.

John Mario was known for his warm heart, creativity, and love for the simple joys in life. He enjoyed taking his dog for walks, photographing beautiful architecture, cooking, and listening to music. Some of his favorite artists included Lady Gaga, Juan Gabriel, and Ana Gabriel. Whenever he came to visit family and friends, he always brought small gifts for everyone, a reflection of his generous and thoughtful nature.

He had a special talent for decorating and always had wonderful ideas that made spaces feel welcoming and beautiful. Professionally, John Mario worked in catering, where he shared his passion for food and hospitality with others.

Traveling was one of John Mario's greatest passions. He loved exploring new places and cultures, and some of his favorite destinations included Mykonos, Puerto Rico, and his beloved Colombia.

John Mario will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on March 9, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Keenan Funeral Home in West Haven.
