John Marcus "Mark" Eubank, 71, of Denison, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024.
Mark was born on February 15, 1953 in Sherman, Texas to Joe and Mary Ann Eubank. After graduating from Sherman High School in 1971, he went on get his bachelor's degree at the University of Texas.
After graduation, Mark worked at Gibson's in management for many years. He later worked for B.A.G. Corp., where he travelled the world meeting many customers and collecting many memorable stories along the way. After leaving B.A.G. Corp. he continued in the bulk bag industry until retirement.
Mark met his wife Cathy in the summer of 1979 while they were both working at Gibson's. They wed in August of 1982, going on to have two children, Melanie and Brent.
Mark loved the outdoors where he had the privilege of teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish, hunt, do water sports, drive boats, trucks, and lawnmowers all while teaching them patience and learning to love and respect nature. He enjoyed gardening, keeping a manicured lawn, birdwatching and visiting on the porch.
What he cherished most-and where he truly excelled-was being Pops. He was the ultimate Barbie player, weaving enchanting voices for storybook characters, a masterful playhouse builder, and a beloved babysitter.
Whether it was target shooting with BB guns, watching them swing, or enjoying playful moments in the playhouse, he embraced every opportunity for fun. He was easily persuaded to join in on family pranks, getting makeovers, and even dressing up and dancing like a princess, all while sharing his infectious joy and love.
Pops delighted in taking his grandkids on rides on the lawnmower, fishing at the lake, exploring the creek for crawdads, and splashing around in the swimming pool. He was always there to cheer them on at their countless sports events, rarely missing a game.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Ann Eubank, and grandson John Grady Eubank.
Mark is survived by his wife, Cathy, of 42 years, daughter Melanie Jeffrey and husband Bandy, and son Brent Eubank and wife Katie. Mark leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Ansley Jeffrey, Knox Jeffrey, Collins Jeffrey, Brooks Eubank, and Jack Eubank. Mark is also survived by his brother Mike Eubank and wife Paula, sister-in-law Lori and husband Felix, and cousin Susan Moser; nieces and nephews- Courtney Neeld, Katie Whitehead, Felix Munson, Jr., Regina Munson, and Travis Munson.
Family night will be held Sunday evening at the home of Mark & Cathy Eubank from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church, 830 W. Main Street, Denison on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
