John “Craig” Evans, 78, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026. He was a loving husband and father with a great sense of humor.

Craig was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on April 15, 1947. He was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he graduated from Stranahan High School in 1965. Craig lived life fully and joyfully, finding great happiness in golfing, sailing, fishing, and taking his boat to the Bahamas whenever he could. He also shared a special and loving bond with his faithful dog, Delilah.

Craig proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a helicopter crew chief during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970, earning 77 Air Medals for his courage and dedication. After returning home, he attended the University of Florida, where he earned a degree in Health Sciences. He remained a passionate and loyal Gator fan throughout his life.

Craig enjoyed a meaningful 34-year career in sales and marketing with Medtronic, including 29 years as District Sales Manager for Palm Beach County. He was deeply respected not only for his knowledge and professionalism but also for his generosity in mentoring others and helping them succeed. His excellence was recognized with the prestigious President’s Club Award, and he made a lasting and positive impact on the many people he worked with and served.

Craig was preceded in death by his beloved son, Benjamin Byron Evans; his mother, Anna Foggin Evans; and his father, John Evans.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane Evans; his son, Christopher Craig Evans; and his sister, Connie Gail Brown (Jim). He is also survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bob Fuller, Peggy (Chuck) Kalb, and Susan (Matt) Tuohy, along with his nieces and nephews: Katie Griggs (Matt), Mary Anne Jolly (Patrick), Claire Shapiro (Jimmy), Byron Fuller, Charles (Morgan) Kalb, Mary Anna Brown, Judah Brown, and Joseph Brown. His loyal companion, Delilah, will miss him dearly.

A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
