John Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory - Historical Downtown Chapel on Mar. 5, 2026.
John Wesley Evans III, born September 11, 1968, in Homer, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and friend whose vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

John was known for his joyful energy, quick humor, and the unique way he connected with people of all ages. Whether entertaining the younger crowd with playful conversation, sharing stories with friends, or bringing laughter to family gatherings, he had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. Many remember him as the brightest light in the room-someone who could turn an ordinary moment into something memorable.

He had a rare gift for bringing people together. His home was often filled with friends, lively conversation, good food, and a favorite bottle of wine or a carefully crafted cocktail. John loved entertaining and took great joy in sharing stories with those around him. His life will be remembered through spilled wine and countless good times.

For nearly 30 years, John shared his life with his wife, Aimee. Together, they built a life filled with love, friendship, travel, and shared adventures.

In recent years, John faced a long and difficult battle with Multiple Sclerosis, a devastating illness that gradually took a toll on his body and mind. Despite the many challenges, he remained surrounded by the love and care of those closest to him. The humor, warmth, and spirit that defined John never faded from the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gustoff Evans; his sister, Karen Evans; and his father-in-law, Bob.

John is survived by his wife, Aimee; his mother, Gayle Evans; his sisters Kim (David) Williams and Kathy Evans; his mother-in-law Dolores Domas; sisters-in-law Debbie (Mark) Howarth, Julie (John) Haney, Denise (John) Curran, Andrea (Dan) Heffernan, and Barbara (Al) Ross; and many nieces and nephews - Matthew, Kacie, Brian K., Evan, Lindsay, Kristen, Aimee, Jessica, Kevin, Lisa, Brian, Riley, Justin, Aidan, Kelly, Joe, Annie, Jenna, Molly, Claire, and Catie. He also leaves behind a wide circle of dear friends and caregivers who became like family.

Those who knew John take comfort in believing that he is now at peace, free from the burdens of illness, and perhaps dancing with the angels, just as those who loved him imagine.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hospitality, and love. The joy he brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten.

A celebration of John's life will be held later this summer, where family and friends will gather to remember the stories and joy he brought into their lives.

Aimee, Gayle, Kim, Kathy,

I was so sorry to learn of John's passing although I know he is now free from pain. John was the son I never had. He spent so much time at our house in Homer when he and my girls were growing up, and he so enjoyed vacuuming my house for me since I had a vacuum cleaner upstairs and one downstairs as well. Our families were very close as we lived only a block apart. We so enjoyed making the trip to witness your wedding. I send you my love, hugs, and prayers. May God hold you and all the family in the palm of His hand and give you peace and rest during this very difficult time and beyond.
