John Richard Eve was born May, 1972 in Brooklyn NY to Carol Ortiz (Billings) and John Eve Sr.
He was a loving father to Alexis, Pasquale, & Jayla. Adored grandfather to Megan & Dexter. Beloved eldest brother to Jaeson Eve, Jillian & Edward Knappenberger, and Carolann & Sylvester Colonna and Jessica and Jacquelyn Eve. He was a Caring Uncle to Crystal, Jaeson Jr, Essance, Jillian, TJ, Frankie, Kailynn, Giada, Skylah, Eddie Jr, Ethan, Sylvester & Frankie.
He was an Amazing Great-uncle to many great nieces and nephews. And a caring stepson to Judy Eve and Norberto Ortiz.
John was an alumni of PS 205, Seth Low JHS, & Lafayette High School.
He loved his Mother and father, his children and family more than anything in the world. His famous thing he would say is, he would go to the end of the planet for us, if we ever needed him and that there was no love greater than his for us. And he truly meant it, as much as he felt he couldn't express it to the depths of what it meant when he said that to us. But we all knew how deep his love went.
No matter what struggles at the end of the day he deeply loved us so much. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family and also his friends and even strangers as long as you didn't mess with his family, you were good with him.
Johnny was afraid of wildlife and anything that moved. He literally flipped over a table to get away from a big water bug and even tried jumping out of the car over a bee.
Johnny was a fun loving teddy bear who would give his shirt off his back for you and do anything for you, if he could.
He was also one of the toughest and bravest around. People from everywhere knew who he was. He was the "E" or "John Eve" He was his families protector!.
But I don't want to shy away from his good looks and baby face that had all the ladies after him.
He just had this charm and Witte about him when it came to the ladies. And though he liked the ladies, Sheila aurroyo was a huge part of his life, and they loved each other very much.
We got to experience some of his wild adventures, and we've been by his side through all the ups and downs no matter what!.
We love him very very much and showed him in every way we could.
My brother Johnny would make just the smallest things so funny just by the way he would say it. It could've been the silliest things, but the way he said it and his facial expressions always had us cracking up.
We'll never forget all the memories we were blessed to have with him throughout the years and is something we will hold with us forever.
We were like the Brady Bunch. There was six of us and we recently just said we were so proud and happy that we've all come so far and made it through so much and are still here.
It is extremely devastating to know that we won't get to have those laughs and those great big hugs and kisses and tears with him anymore.
He was truly a legend, not only in his family, but in the streets, a Brooklyn night of Bensonhurst and other areas of Brooklyn. But everywhere he went, he made his presence known. It's sad to say that our protector is no longer with us, but he will forever be loved and missed wholeheartedly and we will forever keep him alive.
We all pray to God that he is at peace and is in a better place, still laughing, still being the big loving teddy bear he was with all the ones we love and lost. And looking down on us, protecting us from above now!. Beloved son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, love and friend!. Fly high our brave Angel and may you rest in beautiful peace now. We love you so much.

My Dear Cousin Johnnie,

I can't remember the last time we spoke, but I know that every time we did speak, it was like time didn't even pass. Tarah showed me a picture of you guys on her birthday, and you looked great.

I wish I could have been there. I remember when we were little, we used to go to baseball games, and we used to go to the Nannies house for Halloween. We were always together. I remember when Eddie had Kiki's baby shower, and we had such a great time. I have so many great memories.

I can't believe you are gone! They always say the good die young, and I guess it's true. I love you, and I hope you're in a great place with no more suffering and no more pain. Love always, Regina
