The Peinado Family
December 5, 2024
Our family lived across the street from John and Carolyn on Old Carriage Road. They were just the sweetest! We just found out about his passing. He will be missed by all who knew him.

It was an honor and privilege to be a neighbor and fellow SIJ parishioner with John and Carolyn for over 15 years before John "retired" to Stella Maris. My boys especially enjoyed hearing history stories from John over the years. John was so supportive of their scouting adventures. John´s enthusiasm for life, his love of Carolyn and the Lord, his kindness and smile were so contagious. We miss him. Every neighbor who knew him (and Carolyn) was blessed immensely. Rest in peace, John. We will always remember you at Christmas with our Jingle Bell pointsettas.

My thoughts and memories of John Fantom
John will forever remain, as an awe-inspiring memory. I was fortunate to be hired by John as a 12-year-old. I was comforted by his presence over the ten years that I was employed by John. Learning was a continuous process for those of us who absorbed John´s schools of farming, entrepreneurship and life skills.
John consistently practiced Christianity. He never preached, but unswervingly presented himself as a positive, behavioral life and religious role model. I don´t recall John raising his voice in anger. He was a practitioner of the golden rule.
Nuns would come to his greenhouse to collect their Christmas Poinsettias. John´s face beamed with joy, while the Nuns were within his realm. He was unswervingly committed to his belief in Jesus; his Christian passion was vividly portrayed.
I anticipate being welcomed into heaven by John and Carolyn. My successes in this earthly realm are largely traceable to John and his teachings.
John was a behavioral model and a life-changing mentor for untold youngsters under his influence.
