John David Faust, age 58, loving father of two, and adoring husband of Karen Faust, passed away in the morning hours of 23 February, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born on February 28, 1965 in Denver to his loving parents, Jack and Lorraine Faust, the youngest sibling of 4 older brothers and sister. From an early age, John cared deeply for his wide circle of friends and had a passion for cars. He met his future wife while they were both in high school, asking her to his homecoming dance. In 1989 John married his high school sweetheart, Karen Dewey, and soon after had their first child, a daughter named Jordan Faust. Three years later they had a son, Ryan Faust. From the first time he looked into the eyes of his daughter and son, he was determined to be the best father and husband he could be. John and Karen raised their children attending church, as their loving faith in God was always at the centerpiece of their lives.
John was always passionate about being self-employed so he could spend as much time as he could at home with his family. He started his own business, a limo transportation company, which his family plans on continuing to run. In 2020 John was diagnosed with prostate cancer along with small cell carcinoma. The doctors told John this was going to be hard to beat, but John courageously leaned on the Lord and stayed strong through chemotherapy and radiation for the next 8 months. The doctors were staggered to announce that John was cancer free, but there would always be a chance that the cancer would come back. John decided to move forward with a new happiness and awareness of life and gave all glory of his healing to the Lord. He decided to truly live out his passion for classic Mustangs from the 60's. He joined the Early Mustangs club and enjoyed taking his wife and children to car shows and sharing his passion with other car enthusiasts. John was also an avid golfer and loved being in nature with his gardening.
In January 2024 John became sick and a scan came back showing a spot of cancer on his lung and 12 metastatic lesions on his liver. The cancer came back fiercely, and John was determined to fight back just as courageously as he did before. In the end the cancer and the chemo wrought havoc on John's body to the point that it just couldn't take it anymore. John's spirit remained just as strong as ever to the last minutes of his time here on earth as he told his family he loved them and told them that he was ready to go home to Jesus, and courageously stepped into the eternal home that his Father in Heaven had prepared for him. John will be greatly missed by his wife, Karen, and his children, Jordan and Ryan, as well as his siblings, extended family, and wonderful friends.
John is survived by his wife, his two children, and his siblings Betty, Jack, and Jerry.
John's light will continue to shine within his family and friends forever as we remember his kindness, his passion for life, and the depth of his love.
"Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me. The Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, a prayer to the God of my life." -Psalm 42:7-8
The service for John's Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, March 12 at 11am at Brave Church, 3800 E. Hampden Ave between 8:30-10am
