Carl E Spears, a retired US Air Force sergeant passed away at the age of 73 at a hospital in Lone Tree, Colorado.

After graduating from Bradford Area High School in Bradford, Pennsylvania in 1971, he went into the Air Force to serve his country and followed in the footsteps of his favorite uncle Wesley Fairbanks. His US Air Force stations were mainly in Germany and he loved the culture and being overseas. He eventually got stationed at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado. where he met Ann and they married on August 8, 1987 in Aurora Colorado. A few years later, Carl eventually got stationed on Rhein Main Air Force Base in Germany. His wife and daughter, Melissa were able to go with him. As a family they got to tour most of Europe and have those wonderful memories of that time. In 1993 he retired from the Air Force and moved back to Aurora, Colorado.

Shortly after his Air Force retirement, he started working as a supervisor at LSG Sky Chefs in Denver, Colorado and worked from 8/1993 to 3/2014.

Carl enjoyed being with his family and friends. His main goal in life was to always take care of his wife and family. He loved to go on walks every day and talk to his neighbors. He was an avid Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He loved watching football and old wester movies.

Carl is survived by:

Wife: Ann M Spears

Children: Johnny D Meyer, Michael C Meyer, and Melissa A Bishop

Siblings: Dennis Spears and Linda Whiteman. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by:

Father, Edward Spears

Mother, Sue Spears.

Sister, Judy Morrison

Scheduled services:

Friday January 23, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm visitation at Lakewood Romero Chapel on

1805 Sheridan Blvd Lakewood, CO 80232. Leaving the funeral home by 1:10 pm

1:30 PM Cart will be buried at 4400W Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO 80236 at Fort Logan National Cemetery

I´m extremely saddened to hear of Carl´s passing. He was a good neighbor and I always enjoyed our chats. I´m going to miss hearing his stories and our conversations. Many blessings to his family and friends.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Carl´s passing! We knew each other from Church! He was always quiet and a gentleman! Rest in peace Carl you will be missed here on earth but I know you are rejoicing with Jesus!!

Rest in peace Carl! I remember how athletic you were in high school in Track and Field. I worked at Owens-Illinois with your dad Ed and became friends with your mom Sue. They were such nice and humble people just like you were. Rest in Peace Carl.

I am saddened by the news of Carl´s passing. I remember Carl from our school years. And more recently from his keeping in touch with classmates through the BAHS class page. I´ll remember him as a kind and caring person. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and to all who will miss him dearly. RIP Carl, you helped make the world a better place.
