John Faust Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by William H. Clark Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 10, 2025.
John Faust died peacefully Sunday morning December 7, 2025 at Sapphire Healthcare Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Margarete K (Müller) Faust with whom he shared sixty years of marriage at the time of her death on February 6, 2012.

John was born on December 27, 1926 in Dorndiel, Germany. He was one of six children to the late Johann and Sophie (Siefert) Faust.

John was a German military veteran of World War II. He survived the Battle of the Bulge and became a prisoner of war. He was vocationally trained as a butcher. After the war he drove a logging truck for the lumber industry and post-war recovery.

He immigrated with his wife and children in 1957 to Whitestone (Queens) NY where he first worked for the A&P. They moved to Linden, NJ. Along with his late wife they owned and operated Chapel Hill Exxon service station in Perth Amboy, NJ from 1966 to 1988. They retired to Marshalls Creek, PA in 1991.

John always kept busy. He found joy and meaning in doing work. He worked in and outside of his house until the end of August when he fell and ended up in rehab at Sapphire Care Center.

John is survived by his daughter, Juliana Faust and her husband Richard Sudnik of Marshalls Creek, his daughter-in-law, Margaret Faust of Kansas City, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews in Germany, and his canine buddy, Max.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son, Reinhold Faust; two brothers, Otto and Karl; and three sisters, Kätha, Elisabeth and Bertel.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg. In keeping with his wishes there will be no viewing or services.
